Datahat partners only with multi-channel networks (MCNs) that provide brand safe environments across all channels. The ability to guarantee and deliver a brand safe business is of the utmost importance to us.

Human

Datahat administers regular human checks on all channels, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks. We’re picky about the content creators we feature, it makes all the difference.

Blacklisting

Block or barred channels which are sorted by hierarchies such as guns/violence, terrorism, racism/sexism and pornography. In addition Youtube allows agencies/advertisers to access their exclusion files which can be enhanced by the buyer who can add their own keywords and channels that they want excluded ie negative targeting.

Manual Filtering

Through a system of manual filtering content is vetted to make sure only the highest quality inventory is appearing on our channels. These filters sort through content on a highly targeted basis

Technology

We’ve built a high functioning system of filters and mechanisms that ensure the content on our MCNs adheres to strict brand safe guidelines. This includes additional checks and higher levels of compliance, making Datahat’s quality control above industry averages. We have access to exclusive exclusion data that allows heightened negative targeting—which is to say that our checks and systems have a larger capacity to filter out negative keyword results.

Content Filtering

Youtube has built in filters that can be used to block or filter our categories such as “adult/mature or teen audiences only.” There are three categories of filtering: (i) content label exclusions such as adult/mature or teen content and uncategorised content ie newly published (ii) tradegy, conflict or social issues content can be excluded and (iii) advertisers can exclude two specific types of content – “live streaming” and “embedded videos.” In addition, due to the recent issues faced by youtube around brand safety they are introducing additional settings to enable buyers to exclude objectionable content.

Datahat MCN brand policy vetting - all our MCN agreements are strictly prohibiting publishing of content that can be considered non-brand safe. Datahat audits that policy in compliance with agreed terms and conditions.
